($45; 100% pinot meunier; disgorged July, 2006) Pale gold. Yeasty pear, apple, quince paste and fresh fig on the nose, with a piquant hint of quinine. Firm, dry and chewy, with bright orchard fruit and peach pit flavors. The refreshingly mineral finish offers a lingering suggestion of citrus rind.
