The 2005 Egelhoff Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley7th release"Expansively aromatic, black cherry, spice, dust and hints of violet and cinnamon are found in the bouquet. Upon tasting, the texture is very approachable with soft mountain tannins and a long creamy finish." -Bob Egelhoff, WinemakerFruit is sourced from the Glendale Ranch Vineyard east of St. Helena. The vineyard is located above Lake Hennessey in a small, private valley on the flanks of the Howell Mountain region in the upper end of Conn Valley. The grapes are surrounded on all sides by forest and natural vegetation which gives it a unique mini-climate. This vineyard yields full-flavored wines with a backbone for aging and the elegance to be enjoyed in its youth.Purple/black color; exquisite nose - black cherry, Asian spice, hints of cinnamon; flavors are amazing - all sorts of black fruit. Finish is persistent, stunning how much this coats the palate, tons of fruit & complexity, overwhelming structure.This is a California wine.
