Edward Sellers Thief Paso Robles

Winemaker's Notes:

Le Thief is the other new blend for 2005. The idea was to showcase, in a blend, how the dominant variety, Syrah, could be enhanced by the addition of small amounts of Grenache and Mourvèdre. We began with a stellar selection of fruit-driven Syrahs made even richer with the addition of sturdy, smoky Mourvèdre and bright, succulent Grenache. The wine starts out with bold aromatics of jammy berry fruit, vanilla-scented oak, and saddle leather. Brambly and earthy flavors follow an explosive burst of ripe currants. Chewy in texture, the early tannin gives way to a long, velvety finish. Le Thief Statistics: Blend: 59% Syrah, 23% Grenache, 13% Mourvèdre & 5% Cinsault Appellation: Paso Robles Alcohol: 15.8% T.A.: 5.7 g/L pH: 3.78 R.S.: 0.20% Cooperage: 100% French Oak, 45% New Bottle Date: April 2007 Release Date: November 15th 2007 Production: 835 Cases Accolades: • Gold Medal - 2008 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
