Food Pairings for Edicion Limitada. Bodegas Lan
A deep intense purple, and this is only the first of the delights of this wine. The wine is not modeled after the tradional Rioja red, instead it is richer and fresher. The wine's body is full and fruity, a very rich vibrant taste, We paired the wine with a rare leg of lamb roasted with garlic; a perfect match, neither overpowered the other.
Stunning..!!! It tastes like anything BUT Spanish, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Dark as night. Intense and yet it remains so elegant and seamless. Drank it on 1030'08 with Maureen. (Lavender infused rack of lamb w/Mashed potatoes and parsnips and grilled sprouts)
Extremely average. especially for the 2001 vintage
Nose of cherry, frutas de bosque with hint of leather and chocolate, nice long finish; very nicely balanced wine. As LAN is one of the most traditional producers in Rioja I expected a little bit more Rioja character, especially of the 2001. But definitvely a nice, well rounded wine.

This bold red delivers expressive flavors of black cherry, raspberry, chocolate, licorice and mineral, backed by firm tannins under a dense, plush texture. Fruit-forward and modern in style, yet the leafy and spicy notes keep this rooted. Drink now t... Wine Spectator. A Tempranillo wine from Rioja in Spain. 2008 Bodegas LAN Rioja Edicion Limitada 750ml
The 2008 Lan A Mano Edicion Limitada is a blend of 85% Tempranillo 10% Mazuelo and 5% Graciano selected from 35-year-old vines from "Pago El Rincon" and "Vina Lanciano" vineyards aged in new French oak for six months and then four months in new Russian casks. That oak influence dominates the aromatics but underneath that carapace are dark plum boysenberry and licorice notes that will surface with bottle age. The palate is certainly more modern in style compared to the rest of Lan s portfolio with sumptu
A Tempranillo wine from Rioja in Spain. 2006 Bodegas LAN Rioja Edicion Limitada 750ml
This rich red tastes like blackberry jam on toasted brioche. Thick on the palate, oozing with sweet fruit and oak, with muscular tannins that barely ripple the surface. Yet it remains fresh, with a clean, floral finish. Balanced and lively. Atypical for the region, extraordinary for the vintage. Shows the hallmarks of the international style, but is it authentic Rioja? Does it matter? Drink now through 2015.
Bodegas LAN (for the three Rioja provinces of Logrontilde;o, Alava and Navarra) has led the changing times in Spain over the past decade by maintaining clean, modern facilities and pushing for low yields. The Edicion Limitada is one of LANrsquo;s premium bottlings from 30-year-old Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano vines. Aged in new French and Russian oak barrels, the 2003 balances power with grace and terroir and is an exceptional effort for the scorching vintage.
Powerful yet graceful, this rich, ripe red delivers blackberry and currant fruit framed by coffee and toasty oak notes. Though thick on the palate, it remains fresh and focused, and the finish is clean and sweet, with floral and mineral grace notes. Drink now through 2012.
