Edi Simcic Red Bordeaux Blend Goriška Brda Duet 2004

External Review by Astor Wines & Spirits:

Viticulture in Goriska Brda, Slovenia is almost a physical extension of Friuli, Italy. This is an oaked Chardonnay that comes from mineral-driven soils and a cool climate. The fruit is mildly evolved, rich in honey, dried yellow fruits and earthy minerals. The influence of new oak is apparent but balanced.

Edi Simcic:
Edi Simcic Chardonnay, if you can find a fine restaurent Sommelier to order it for you, will not be a disappointment. It's a very complex blend of fruity (peaches & cream) after tastes but still has that Cakebread vineyards full-bodied oak buttery taste - absolutely wonderful. Produced in Slovenia. Good luck finding it.
