Edi Simcic Malvazija Riserva 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

Edi's Malvazija (Malvasia) Riserva 2013 is a monumental showcase of the skills of Slovenia's best winemaker. The bouquet offers up full-throttle aromas of orange blossoms, ginger spice and fresh pear and whtie peach. Fermented and aged in oak, the wine displays the fabulous richness and density of a top white Burgundy, with flavors of apricot, lemon meringue, salty brine, and clove spice. The ultrafine, underlying acidity gives a subtle foundation to a finish that just goes on and on.

Edi Simcic:
Edi Simcic Chardonnay, if you can find a fine restaurent Sommelier to order it for you, will not be a disappointment. It's a very complex blend of fruity (peaches & cream) after tastes but still has that Cakebread vineyards full-bodied oak buttery taste - absolutely wonderful. Produced in Slovenia. Good luck finding it.
