Edge Cabernet Sauvignon North Coast 2010
86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Syrah, 5% Merlot from vineyards in Napa, Mendocino, Sonoma and Lake counties. The nose opens with sweet dark tobacco and ripe black cherries. This medium body Cabernet Sauvignon tastes of baked black cherry tart, ripe blackberries and wet stone. A long lingering nish shows well integrated round tannins. Drink now through 2017. Alcohol 13.8%.
Editorial Reviews for Edge Cabernet Sauvignon North Coast
While rather sweet smelling on the nose, with lots of toasty, cinnamon streaked accents, there’s also plenty of blackberry and blue fruit here with cool inky nuance, a little peppery spice and fine integrated cedary oak notes., Fairly rich on entry, then turning nicely focused in the mouth with seamless integration and lovely purity to the core of black fruit on the palate. Fairly tannic, yet remaining supple in the mouth this shows good persistance to the fruit, though lacks some of the appealing complexity that the nose promises. 87pts
