Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio Venezie IGT 2007
Our Pinot Grigio is crafted from 91% Pinot Grigio grapes and 9% Chardonnay from Trentino, harvested at optimal maturity levels. The wine was made "in bianco" or "in the white," referring to the vinification process that transforms the blue-gray colored berries into delicate white wine. A soft pressing was used to enhance flavor extraction while imparting minimal color from the skins. The juice was fermented in temperature-controlled tanks and a selection of specific yeast was added at a temperature of 20ºC. To intensify the tropical fruit characteristics of the wine, 4.5% of the blend (3% Pinot Grigio and 1.5% Chardonnay) is surmaturo grapes, which are grapes that are left on the vine longer than normal, allowing the juice to develop greater concentration and complexity from the extended hang time. After settling, the wine was cold stabilized, filtered and bottled under sterile conditions, avoiding malolactic fermentation and preserving the fruit characteristics of the wine.
Semi sweet and not too dry.
Pear aromas, good balance of acid/sweet, not very fruity or complex.
First wine I tried. It has a really nice flavor and nothing too crazy. It was a good wine to start on for me.
very clean. light fruity notes and a floral finish that lingers on your lips. very nice!
Typically not a white wine drinker, but this wine is well balanced. Nice fruit aromas, without being overly sweet.
Not to complex. Oakey. Little fruit. Bland.
