What to Expect

Syrah: One of the few grapes to really be a global success. Syrah combines a meaty core of ripe berry fruit with tones that range from herbal to peppery in a package that tends to be medium bodied with good acidity and softer tannins. With age the wines can gain lovely leathery and black olive notes that make them a great match for savory and gamy dishes.

Nose reminded me of grape jelly and ""mop bucket"" . A deeper more concentrated ""whif"" also brought about oak and tobacco (very pleasant nose). Cherry, tobacco leaf and smoky oak flavors with just a hint of strawberry. Fruit is subdued, and finish is delightful. Very smooth tannins. Well done! I imagine this will be even better on day 2. Day 2: Nose has become cherry menthol mixed with charred wood with a little cauliflower aspect maybe? Very nice. Flavor is very balanced with oaky finish. Fruit is evident but not the focus, its just very harmonious. I recommend this drink highly, especially if read more...
