User Reviews for E. Pira & Figli Chiara Boschis Barolo Via Nuova Italy

Winemaker's Notes:

E. Pira & Figli is a very important name in the history ofBarolo. The Pira family, whose members have beenvignerons for generations, started producing and bottlingwine at the end of the 19th century. When the Pira lineageended tragically with the death of Luigi Pira, the estate wassold to the Boschis family of Giacomo Borgogno & Figli.Chiara Boschis took over the reins in 1990 with a clearvision of what she wanted to accomplish to marry theextraordinary power of Barolo with approachability, enticing elegance, and lush, intense aromas. She vinifiesexclusively from proprietary vineyards, located in the verybest crus of Barolo: Cannubi, San Lorenzo and Via Nuova, comprising a total of 14 acres. Annual production is aminiscule 2,000 cases. This is truly a rare gem of anestate.
