Sweet fruit and vanilla domoinate the nose, simple in the mouth with good intensity though turns tough and disjointed finishing very short. Obviously too young but the wine does rally at times revealling good balance and depth but still a bit monolithic. Should improve.

RParker: Tasting through the six components of the 2001 Cote Rotie Chateau d'Ampuis suggests a wine with far greater depth, more structure, higher acidity than the 2000, and a long, heady finish. All six parcels were rated between 89 and 96 points.
