I wasn't terribly impressed by this wine. It wasn't robust enough to really hold its own or bold enough for my taste. May not be bad with a soft cheese but I wouldn't drink it solo.
Decent cab. Leaves the roof of my mouth all leathery just what I like about a good Cab. :) Just disappointed that I'm seeing prices for it online around $12 a bottle. I bought some from Safeway - the regular price was $21.99! I bought 2 bottles 'on sale' at 2 for $24. That's crap! Rude of Safeway for making me think I got a real deal!!
Nice, cheap fun and friendly! This wine is fine, a bit tart and tannic, but with decent fruit and some structure. OK, hang on, i just saw its $20. Given that its an ok wine. I prefer fruitier wines, over the big structure cabs...
Opened up nicely once it sat for a few minutes.
Good wine for under $15. Not worth the $20 price tag.
External Reviews for Dynamite Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon North Coast
Winemaker Notes - Primarily from the Red Hills Lake County appellation, this Dynamite Cabernet Sauvignon offers up aromas of black fruit, cassis, and chocolate followed by flavors of luscious blackberry cobbler and toffee.
The Dynamite 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon remains true to the style of previous vintages, even as the vineyard sources have narrowed to the new Red Hills AVA within the North Coast appellation. The wine is round and full-flavored, immensely fruit-driven and true to the varietal. Delicious when young, it has the potential for greater complexity with bottle aging. This wine is made almost exclusively from mountain-grown fruit with smaller clusters and berries, and as such, is very concentrated and intense. Lush aromas of dark fruit such as blackberry, currant and plum are complemented by notes of dark chocolate and espresso. The full palate shows sweet fine-grained tannins from the mountain vineyards. 18 months of barrel aging helped soften the tannins and integrate the wine’s aroma and flavor components. This wine pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, roasted beef tenderloin and full-flavored cheeses
