External Reviews for Duval-Leroy Pinot Noir Champagne Brut Rosé
An elegant wine, with a delicate grain and subtle, citrusy acidity. Offers flavors of yellow apple, clementine and licorice snap, with hints of marzipan and coconut and a fresh, creamy finish. Drink now through 2018.
Apple and bread dough flavors mark this Champagne, which shows a touch of honey. Medium-bodied, with moderate length. Tails off a little on the finish. Drink now.
A moussy, creamy, fresh and light Champagne, with velvet apples and cream character. There is a touch of citrus, but this so-fruity wine is lively and instantly delicious.
Rich and gingery, yet with a firm structure, settling into citrus, toast and hazelnut flavors. I like the balance and expression in this solid, well-integrated wine. Drink now.
Founded in 1859, Duval-Leroy has been under the direction of owner Carol Duval-Leroy since 1990, and she is one of the few women at the helm of a Champagne house. This full-bodied non-vintage brut uses a 2003 base and blends 75 percent Pinot Noir with 25 percent Chardonnay. The grapes were sourced from 20 different vineyards located on the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs.
This rich, sumptuous bubbly is marked by clover honey, candied citrus and hints of malt and mineral. It’s beautifully integrated, with medium weight and a lingering, ginger-infused aftertaste. Drink now through 2010.
Fresh, ripe stone fruit and warm brioche nose. Clean lemon citrus flavour. Pleasing linear acidity with a long, chalky finish.
