Champagne Duval-Leroy was founded in 1859 when two Champagne families came together to share their interests. Since its creation, Champagne Duval-Leroy has been located in Vertus, in the heart of “La Cote des Blancs”. Currently the House cultivates about 200 hectares, much of which is devoted to production of high quality Chardonnay grapes. The predominance of Chardonnay in the elaboration of the cuvees gives a finesse, lightness and elegance to DUVAL-LEROY champagnes. Headed by Carol Duval-Leroy since 1991, the company is one of the few remaining 100% family-owned Champagne firms and is ranked in the 15 top Champagne houses. Read less

Salmon pink, almost peach in colour. Very sweet and perhaps a little sickly but satisfies as I have a sweet tooth.

This rich, sumptuous bubbly is marked by clover honey, candied citrus and hints of malt and mineral. It’s beautifully integrated, with medium weight and a lingering, ginger-infused aftertaste. Drink now through 2010.

A very pretty copper color, just faintly tinged with pink. It?s a sensuous, spicy wine with forward, pretty aromas of strawberry, raspberry and sweet cherry. It doesn?t fade in the mouth; there is real concentration here all the way through. It actually seems to build intensity as it sails into the long, graceful finish.

Aromas and flavors of toasted brioche and citrus with a balanced mouthfeel and lively bubbles; ends with a crisp, dry finish.

Duval-Leroy has its finger on the consumer hot button; this is what most people conjure up in their mental palate when the word Champagne pops up. Full, almost fleshy, and richly delicious, this is not the most complex or elegant bottle. But in terms of delivering big, friendly flavor at a fair price, this is the one to beat. I particularly like the way the wine continues to evolve on the back palate; it doesn’t just sit there and grin at you. It smoothly rides into a toasty sunset, waving its big hat.

Much drier than many non-vintage Champagnes, this is full of crisp grapefruit flavors, lively green fruits, and a touch of bready yeast. It is a deliciously fresh wine, dancing across the palate.

A moussy, creamy, fresh and light Champagne, with velvet apples and cream character. There is a touch of citrus, but this so-fruity wine is lively and instantly delicious.

Founded in 1859, Duval-Leroy has been under the direction of owner Carol Duval-Leroy since 1990, and she is one of the few women at the helm of a Champagne house. This full-bodied non-vintage brut uses a 2003 base and blends 75 percent Pinot Noir with 25 percent Chardonnay. The grapes were sourced from 20 different vineyards located on the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs.

Duval-Leroy is a large family owned Champagne house headquartered in Vertus in Cote de Blancs. This brut rose's salmon color, created from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, holds one's eye and has hints of amber. Its bouquet releases a wealth of aromas: wild cherries, figs and even a hint of ginger and geranium.
