Durigutti "Malbec Reserve" Mendoza 2007

Member Review by Tyler Worth:

90 points. Rich and dark, full aromas of blackberries and black plums dominate the nose of this wine. There is a curious wheaty component coming through that makes me think of fresh artisan bread, combined with a deep chocolate core. A spin in the glass reveals foresty notes of birch, undergrowth, and berry bush. Tons of velvety smooth richness drapes its way across the palate, accompanied by dark cherry and spiced, driftwood and forest floor. Following the mid palate there are kitchen spices and dried herbs, with orange peel and cloves on the finish. This is an impressive wine, very full but beautifully refined. Solid mouthfeel, lasting finish, and good complexity, this would be a solid buy at twice the price.
