Soft fruit leads to bright acidity and soft tannins. Food friendly.

Decent bog-standard malbec. No standing on ceremony here: the inky nose is present, albeit a little muted, and the traditional sweet, red fruits come across reasonably well, with a touch of iron. It just feels like it could try a little harder, with more concentration and a touch more complexity. A decent pairing for milder meats. (AV 85, http://argovino.com/?p=1087)

Lovely, lush malbec leaning to dry. Very bold flavors. Drank well alone and paired with various meat and cheeses. Definite pop of palate pleasing black pepper and other spices as well as lively fruits, berries, chocolates and earth flavors. Admittedly, we tend to really enjoy our Malbecs. Quoting from other websites: 89 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar " Dark red. Laid-back, slightly rustic aromas of currant, chocolate, mocha and leather. Supple and suave but not overly concentrated, with good inner-mouth energy to the flavors of blackberry, chocolate and mint. A rather dry, classic malbec with a savory finish displaying fine tannins and a lingering chocolate note." (2/ 2011) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate " The 2009 Malbec displays a fragrant bouquet of Asian spices, lavender, dried herbs, and black cherry. Medium-bodied and with some elegance on the palate, this spicy offering is nicely balanced and surprisingly lengthy. Drink this excellent value over the next 3-4 years. The new releases from Durigutti are all fine values made from fruit purchased in Uco and Agrelo. They are bottled without fining or filtration." (12/ 2011) Wine Spectator " Ripe, with flashy mocha and melted licorice notes up front, backed by crushed plum and raspberry fruit. A crowd-pleasing style. Drink now." (8/ 2011)

Color is dark purple. On the nose, mainly blackberry and blueberry. On the tongue, predominantly jammy blackberry and blueberry with overtones of cassis and tar with subtle tar and smoke. Medium bodied plus, refined tannins, moderate fruity/smokey finish; good velvety, dense and fruity mouthfeel. Recommended.

Lush nose laced with black-berry and plum fruit. Soft yet focused on the palate, with additional flavors of strawberry and wild herbs. Medium tannins and balanced acidity.

The 2010 Malbec Reserve has a floral nose with crushed violets infusing the creme de cassis fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins fine acidity and an insistent grip on the minerally finish. Again this is a thoughtfully crafted Malbec that is harmonious and complex. Drink now-2019. -Neal Martin Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

Another spectacular effort from one of Argentina's busiest winemakers, Hector Durigutti, this malbec comes from a 16 year old vineyard in La Consulta (Valle de Uco). Soft blue and purple fruits are pure, with just a hint of spiciness, well balanced acidity and a plush texture and lingering finish.

Good blackberry, plum and black cherry fruit, along with notes of coffee and beef. Slightly rustic finish, but good, solid fruit. Drink now.

A lush, toasty style, with lots of cocoa and roasted vanilla up front, followed by dark, well-layered fig, boysenberry and mulled currant fruit flavors. The long finish lets all the fruit hang nicely, with an underlying graphite hint supporting it all. Drink now through 2011.

Good medium ruby. High-toned aromas of blackberry pastille, licorice, violet and fresh herbs. Vinous and on the lean side, with fresh acidity framing the candied blackberry and licorice flavors. Juicy but a bit dry on the back. Not bad, but a tad pinched.
