Dunn Howell Mountain 2006
This Cabernet begins with a supple mouthfeel and features fine concentration to dark berry flavors, with persistent earthiness adding interest. Dried and fresh herb accents and nicely integrated cedary, chocolaty oak intermingle with the fruit. There are plenty of solid tannins and this will certainly benefit from at least three or four more years in the cellar. If opened now, it will show best with lamb, venison or duck.

The 2006 shows gorgeous depth as it opens up in the glass. Dark fruit, licorice, smoke and tar are some of the notes that flesh out in this broad-shouldered Cabernet Sauvignon. A creamy, textured finish rounds things out in style.
Deep medium ruby. Sexy, inviting aromas of dark berries, licorice pastille, spicecake and leather. Densely packed but light on its feet, with good sweetness and breadth to the black fruit flavors. Distinctly round for a young cabernet from this produ... Stephen Tanzer's IWC. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2006 Dunn Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 750ml
Deep ruby core with a purple-tinged rim. Seriously complex, with a dense and enveloping red fruit core that shows hints of cranberry, sandalwood, dark chocolate, espresso bean, and vanilla. Rich and creamy on the palate, with a piercing jolt of deep ... Cory Gowan. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2006 Dunn Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 750ml
he 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is big dark and juicy. There is an element of wildness that runs through the wine. Graphite licorice tar and smoke are just some of the nuances that add complexity. The 2006 boasts superb purity from start to finish. Elements of fleshiness give the impression the 2006 might drink well relatively early until the massive tannins set in. Floral notes add freshness on the finish. This is another fabulous wine from Randy Dunn. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2036. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
Very dark purple almost black at the core with a bright magenta rim. The nose is loaded with graphite blackberry copious floral notes and almost no sign of new oak. Once in the mouth this is pure mountain cabernet-big and broad in the mouth with loads of black fruit and pretty grippy tannins. This needs lots of air or several more years of bottle age before it should ideally be consumed as this is still an infant in terms of evolution and can easily age 20+ years. With extended air it reminds me of young Chateau Margaux as it has tons of complexity and the character of a well made Left Bank wine. John Sweeney.
Bright full medium ruby. Expressive nose offers cassis blackberry black raspberry and leather scents lifted by a minty nuance. Lush and fine-grained but with a firm edge of acidity and menthol and minty nuances energizing the rich dark berry flavors. Finishes with civilized tannins but still needs a few years to harmonize its acidity. Like the Napa Valley bottling this is suppler than many past releases of this wine. Stephen Tanzers IWC.
