The 2005 Chardonnay Isobel has that greenish hue to its yellow straw color. The wine smells fabulous, with notes of tropical fruits, honeyed citrus, a touch of roasted hazelnut, and a crushed rock flintiness. A wine of great intensity, full-bodied power, but extraordinary structure and length, this is a sensational Chardonnay that should drink well for 5-8 years.
Distinctive for peach and nectarine flavors that are intense, focused, lively and persistent, with mouthwatering acidity and a long, persistent finish that echoes mineral and citrus and adds just a pinch of butterscotch. Drink now through 2012. 558 c... Wine Spectator. A Chardonnay wine from California in USA. 2005 Dumol Chardonnay Isobel Green Valley 750ml
The 2005 Chardonnay Russian River offers a terrific introduction to this estate s Burgundian winemaking style. A 3,200-case blend of fruit from the Heintz, Ritchie, and Dutton vineyards, it boasts fabulous fruit along with hints of lemon oil, orange blossoms, tropical fruit, subtle smoky oak, and crushed rocks. This fresh, lively effort appears to be the finest Russian River Chardonnay DuMol has yet produced.
The 2005 Chardonnay Chloe comes from the well-known Ritchie Vineyard, the source for some unbelievable Chardonnays in California, and it makes a nice contrast to the Isobel, which comes from the Heintz Vineyard, or the Clare, which comes from the Hyde Vineyard. This is a sensational Chardonnay with great minerality, a light greenish-hued gold color, and a stunning nose of orange blossoms, guava, nectarine, honeysuckle, and lemon oil. The wine displays white currant and floral notes, super full body, and superb structure due to the acidity levels. This is fabulous Chardonnay that should drink nicely over the next 5-6 years.
The 2005 Chardonnay Clare offers exotic tropical fruit notes, has a medium straw color, seems more tightly knit in the mouth, with more noticeable acidity. This acidity gives the wine tremendous structure and tightness, reminding me of a backward white Burgundy in terms of its structural mouthfeel. This is another beauty that should drink nicely for 5-7 years.
Tight and concentrated, with a mix of green apple, citrus, Meyer lemon and flinty mineral notes that are intense and focused, with a complex finish that ends with a touch of oak. Drink now through 2011. 268 cases made. JL Wine Spectator. A Chardonnay wine from California in USA. 2005 Dumol Chardonnay Clare 750ml
