User Reviews for DuMOL Chardonnay Carneros Clare
Add your reviewSold my first large winerack to a nice gentleman and shared this amazing Dumol Chardonnay to seal the deal. Just wanted to have a taste but the aroma, full bodied richness, and exquisite mouthfeel was off the charts. We finished the whole bottle during the transaction. The warm sunny day was terrific for the wine as the wine was outstanding for the day. Personal cellar aging 27 months.
External Reviews for DuMOL Chardonnay Carneros Clare
Rating: 95/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the October 2010 issue. As is usual from Du Mol, this very deep wine comes with a fair dose of oak and plenty of perfectly ripened, exceptionally well-focused varietal fruit. It is, however, not at all heavy in gait nor is it wholly defined by its ripeness, and it sports a fine spine of buoyant, enlivening acid. Still a touch tight, but already showing very long and wonderfully layered flavors, it balances richness and grace beautifully, and it is structured to keep and improve for a good many years to come. In short, this is an accomplished and very serious Chardonnay to cellar in complete confidence, and we cannot wait to taste Du Mol's more ambitious vineyard designate bottlings from 2008.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Further bottle aging can improve this wine.
"Light green/yellow color. Captivating nose of stone fruits
Winemaker's Notes:
92 points California Grapevine: Medium-light yellow; attractive, forward, rich, intense, buttery, stone fruit aroma with notes of citrus, vanilla and roasted hazelnuts; full body; rich, textured, intense, apple and stone fruit flavors with notes of minerality and a velvety mouthfeel; well balanced and structured; lingering aftertaste. Shows well-proportioned fruit and oak. Very highly recommended. 14.3% alcohol; 100% barrel fermented; 100% malolactic fermentation. (Aug/Sep 2010)
