Dujac Charmes-Chambertin 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

92-96 points Fine Wine Review: The Charmes-Chambertin was presented after the Combottes as an interruption to the premiers crus, at least in part to provide the comparison of two vineyards that are close together and somewhat alike but also somewhat different. Here we have dark fruits with some anise elements. The wine is nervy, powerful, and shows tannins -- it should be a relatively long ager. (3/28/17)

A completely different aromatic profile presents itself here with a wild mix of red berries, especially sour cherry and currant, along with lavender, rose petal and warm earth nuances. A seductive mix of wood spice, high-toned red berry fruit aromas and warm earth undertones give way to round, rich and sappy flavours that offer excellent volume and a delicious yet serious finale. There is a bit more underlying material compared to

Medium red. Nose dominated by cinnamon and smoky oak. Lush on entry, then quite closed in the middle palate, with the wine oak component dominating its shy fruit. This shows more flesh than flavor today, and will need time to express itself. 88+ poin... Stephen Tanzer's IWC.
