Light straw yellow color. Crisp, medium body with a refreshing mouthfell. Slightly dry with touches of citrus fruit and hints of mineral and herb. Nice lasting finish.

Cool, varietally precise aromas of gooseberry, lemon peel and peppermint oil. Pure flavors of citrus skin, gooseberry and mint; supple and creamy-ripe, with lovely fruit and sweetness. Initially seemed to fade on the back end, but showed more grip and persistence with aeration. lacks the sheer intensity for outstanding, but very nicely made.

Pale green-tinged color. Shy aromas of orange zest, lemon thyme, mint and dusty stone. Supple and rather broad in the mouth, with a waxy suggestion of Sèmillon. Not quite as crisp and convincing as this wine usually is. Could use a bit more flavor definition and grip, not to mention concentration. Rather lean on the finish, but not short.

Vanilla, lemon drop, fig and anise flavors are nicely focused, with good depth through a lively, lemony finish. Drink now.

Muscular, mildly sweaty aromatics make this a little tough to get into, but the flavors are really elevated and complex. There;s layered citrus, slate, licorice and spice all working together. The texture is nice. with spiciness coming on late. A bit of sweetness properly offsets the spicy, peppery quality to the finish.

If readers have not noticed, Duckhorn is building more texture and flavor into their wines. Their delicious, fruit-driven, medium-bodied 2000 Sauvignon Blanc offers copious quantities of melons, figs, and spice. With good acidity as well as a dry finish, it will drink beautifully over the next year.

Very pale color. Highly aromatic, somewhat viognier-like aromas of flowers, mint and stone. Floral and intensely flavored, with perfumed flavors of poached pear and tangerine nicely framed by fresh acids. Concentrated and persistent.
