The 2008 Decoy Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is a campfire in a bottle. As soon as the cork is popped, the smokey after-effects of the wildfires that ripped through California in '08 are evident in this wine. Well integrated toasty oak flavors, and light cherry and strawberry notes pull everything together on the finish. At just over $20 a bottle, this wine is a steal. Great QPR. Cheers, TheKilsons

Winemaker's Notes - Decoy Pinot Noir highlights a plush and approachable expression of Pinot Noir that is crafted to be ready upon release. The aromas offer enticing layers of Bing cherry, anise, cola, mint and oak-inspired vanilla. On the palate, the wine displays lovely weight and balance with rich and appealing layers of raspberry, fresh strawberry pie, Santa Rosa plum and morel mushroom, all underscored by a streak of acidity that carries the flavors to a long, satisfying finish.

A relatively new entry into the Duckhorn Family of wines, this Pinot Noir offers rich and lingering flavors of plum, berry and cherry; the backbone of tannin and acidity are beautifully rounded out with the forward fruit; great quality for the price.

A touch rustic, offering intense cedary oak flavors wrapped around ripe blackberry and mineral notes. Full-bodied, ending with a coarse edge to the tannins and some heat. Best from 2012 through 2018.
