What to Expect
Merlot has gotten a bad rap as of late but there is no denying the wine's appeal. Packed with deep, dark berry fruit and nuanced hints of cocoa, herb and earth with a soft structure. Its velvety texture makes Merlot instantly appealing and an obvious alternative to similar, more tannic Bordeaux varieties.

Fine Wines
Bright ruby-red. Exotic black cherry, dark chocolate, menthol, mint and truffle on the nose. Sweet, lush and pliant, with flavors of currant, chocolate, truffle, smoke, earth and oak. Finishes with dusty, slightly dry-edged but ripe tannins and a sug... Stephen Tanzer. A Merlot wine from California in USA. 2003 Duckhorn Merlot 750ml
May 2009
This wine shows aromas of sweet plum sauce, vanilla, chocolate, cedar and butterscotch with big, forward black cherry and black berry fruit in the mouth. A balanced middle with a hint of toasty oak is paired with a nice bite from rounded tannins, and a long pleasant finish. This wine pairs well with grilled meats and wild game with herb-infused, wild-berry sauces, hearty pasta dishes and Pacific Northwest Salmon.
