Co-founded by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in 1976, Duckhorn Vineyards has spent a quarter century establishing itself as one of North America's premier producers of Bordeaux varietal wines. From its modest inaugural vintage of 800 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon and 800 cases of Merlot in 1978, to its addition of Sauvignon Blanc in 1982, Duckhorn Vineyards has crafted a tradition of quality and excellence that continues today.

External Reviews for Duckhorn Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Napa Valley
In any given harvest Duckhorn has 30 or more separate lots of Estate wine to blend into a final Cabernet Sauvignon. The final blend for this 2005 is approachable in its youth, with a soft texture and notable finesse, while still possessing the structure to age for a decade or longer. Primarily from three estate vineyards; Monitor Ledge, Rector Creek and Patzimaro, the grapes reached a slow but prefect maturity in what was an outstanding vintage in Napa Valley. Aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels before bottling this lush Cabernet is blend of 79% with 21% Merlot. Wine & Spirits Magazine scored it 93 points saying "If anyone needs proof that Napa Valley can still grow honest cabernet, structured rather than softened by tannins, taste this wine from Duckhorn. It’s balanced and firm, with plenty of alcohol to fire the earthiness. Its structure is completely filled by dark fruit and fruit-skin flavors of blueberries and black cherries. There's a lasting wild mushroom fruitiness to the tannin as well, adding depth to the wine and strengthening its potential to age." Very Limited!!
