Fruit salad! This smells of fruits, all of them, and they’ve applied sun tan lotion! Lots of coconut cream and toasty spice here along with melon, tangelo, pineapple and pear fruit. Fairly rich on entry and again very fruity, though it’s a nice blend of fruit underlain with some gentle oak notes. The acidity here is bright lending this a juicy, refreshing quality. The finish drops off very quickly turning steely and sharp, but I can see this having very broad appeal. 87pts
A touch of vanilla on the nose but this is driven by lime, apricot, and pineapple fruit tones that seem fresh and bright. Zesty acid on entry is followed by cool, crisp flavors of green fruits, pineapple and peach with creamy vanilla undertones and light wood spice notes. The texture is lovely and shows excellent integration. This is refreshing yet doesn’t lack power or richness and finishes with an absolute flourish of lime, starfruit, and peach fruit salad notes with even a hint of blueberry. Delicious 92pts
Melon with a bit of lemon on the nose. Hints of oak, citrus. Nice wine. Nothing special.
I like this wine a lot, it brings out a lot of great citrus and smokey flavors without being too overpowering.
Lots of apricots on the nose. Creamy and zesty with good balance and a long prickly finish.

From the Beverage Testing Institute World Wine Championships: 86 Points. Silver Medal. Golden yellow color. Toasted nut, baked apple, and lemon balm aromas follow through on a soft, round entry to a dryish medium body with green pineapple, lime rind and mineral notes. Finishes with a crisp, tart mealy apple fade. (tasted on Mar-02-2009)
This wine won a gold medal at the 2009 Long Beach Grand Cru Wine Competition.
Our rich, bright Duck Shack Chardonnay is meant to be shared. Savor the layers of apples and pears with a hint of nutty complexity in this wine. Its superb balance and crisp finish are the perfect complement to memorable gatherings with good friends and fine food.
The nose is a bright mix of apple, pear and hints of peach and a light toast. The mouth is crisp and mineral textured with lively with well balanced and integrated oak.
