aromas complete with berries, cherries and tinges of spice, some minerality on the palate with a light dusty earthiness, a delicate wine
As far as Noveaus go, this one wasn't overly sweet as they sometimes can be. It's definitely a young drinking wine, not for all, but this one seemed to have some depth to it and I rather enjoyed it this year. Generally I prefer the Moulin-a-Vent because it's the bolder and heavier cru.
Young, bright purple, the smell leaps out of the glass and attacks your nose with strawberry jam. Quick, forgettable finish. But a lovely, happy wine.
I loved this wine. I bought a bottle, then went back and got 4 more. It went great with friends, pizza, and good times. Kinda spicy, am looking forward to the next years.
Food Pairings for Duboeuf Nouveau
Having just been picked weeks before bottling, the Gamay grapes give this Beaujolais nouveau a purple/pink color. Very lightweight with strong flavors of banana and pear drops. With a forgetful yet smooth finish, this wine is recommended to be served chilled.
