Duboeuf Morgon Cote du Py 2009
87-88+ points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): ...combines resin and vanilla with cassis and boysenberry; offers an almost thickly rich sense of concentration... this is powerfully fruity and its notes of salt, iodine, and leather certainly lend a degree of complexity... (Aug 2010)
My Rating 88: Very well balanced nose with complex attributes. Body is fruity well balanced with long taste. Very well made. Price about $ 10.- at Costco
External Reviews for Duboeuf Morgon Cote du Py
Bold and juicy when first poured, the red cherry and tart cranberry flavors of this wine develop more refinement with air. It has a firm, smoky richness and clean depth of flavor; to pour with steak tartare.
This firm red offers ripe, juicy black currant and kirsch fruit flavors, with dark chocolate shavings and just a hint of herbes de Provence. Therersquo;s bright acidity here and lightly chewy tannins throughout, with a smoke-tinged finish. Drink now through 2013.
The 2005 Morgon bursts forth with massive doses of waxy black fruits. Broad, suave, and satin-textured, this is a fleshy, concentrated wine. Its powerful core of fruit, principally dark cherries and blackberries, lingers in its long finish. Projected maturity: nowndash;2013.
