A Duboeuf 2010 Morgon Cote de Py (not associated with any one domaine; but sporting a distinctive "non-flower" label) leads with scents of buddleia and dark cherry then offers generous fruitiness along with the beginnings of carnal savor and a peat-like smokiness on the palate. Unfortunately there is a bit of textural roughness to an otherwise impressively persistent finish; but that may diminish as this puts some distance between itself and its bottling date. Certainly this offers excellent value along

A firmly terroir-driven wine, solidly based on its tannins and the richest of red fruits. Very mineral, chewy at this young stage, densely concentrated, the acidity a sharp light through the fruit. Powerful stuff. Wine Enthusiast. The 2009 vintage of this wine was one of the stars from Georges Duboeuf, and this 2010 fits the same pattern. It has great richness, spice, black cherry fruits, the acidity offering the fruity side of the wine. Ready for aging two years. Wine Enthusiast. Winemaker's Notes:

While a touch of roughness and greenness detracted slightly from the berries and game of Duboeuf?s ?flower label? 2010 Morgon and 2010 Morgon Belles Grives, the 2010 Morgon Domaine de la Chaponne ? grown just outside the hamlet of Morgon itself ? mingles ripe dark cherry and peony in the nose, and displays a supple, juicy palate tinged in its finish with coriander and cherry pit.
