A nicely balanced, complex Sauvignon, this wine is mouthfilling and round, but not soft, with a blend of tropical fruit - mango and papaya - and grassy, herbal nuances. Finishes long, crisp and herbal; should be versatile at the table. Drink now.
Aggressively pungent and herbal without being over the top, this is Sauvignon Blanc that screams of its origins. Grapefruit and passion fruit flavors wash easily across the palate, leaving plenty of grassy herbaceousness in their wake, and a crisp, lingering finish. Drink now.
Archetypal Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, featuring pungent, herbal aromas to go alongside bold passion fruit notes. It shows ample weight in the mouth, even a slightly oily texture and pronounced green flavors that persist a good long time. Probably best with fresh tomato or strong herbal dishes.
Pale, bright color. Pungent aromas of lemon, quince and green pepper. Juicy and fairly supple but with a distinct tart edge to the flavors of lemon, green apple, quince and pepper. Possesses just enough flesh to avoid coming off as severe. (Another bottle, though, was leaner and a bit greener.)
Tight. tart and focused, with peach-accented lime and grapefruit flavors that hover enticing over the crisp finish. Drink now.
Pale, bright yellow. Lemon, fresh herbs and pepper on the nose. Broad, supple and nicely filled in, with good intensity to the slightly sweaty pepper and saline flavors; I picked up a hint of horseradish. No shortage of personality here. Finishes with good persistence.
Color: Light yellow in color, with greenish hues. Brilliant clarity. Nose: A bouquet of citrus zest, gooseberry and passion fruit. Palate: Drylands Sauvignon Blanc displays rich, ripe flavors of ruby grapefruit and passion fruit with herbal overtones. The palate has superb weight and complexity, lingering in a crisp, refreshing finish. As our series of recent awards attest, Drylands Wines really are the pick of Marlborough.
