This brace from Dry Creek Vineyard were tasted blind in the same flight of eight wines, although not side by side it turns out, and there are more similarities than differences between them. This one gets no oak treatment and is intended to be the lighter of the two, and if it is, that difference is hard to spot save for the slightly simpler quality of the fruit here. On the other hand, both wines are on the stiff, lean side with but vague wisps of varietal grasses. Price, rather than any stylistic preference, gives this one a slight but useful edge.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now.
