"Rating: 85/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the August 2010 issue. Nominally tighter than its mate and perhaps enough grassier to claim higher varietal precision
Rating: 85/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the August 2010 issue. Nominally tighter than its mate and perhaps enough grassier to claim higher varietal precision, this one is lean, minerally and on the stiff side, and, in the final analysis, does not deliver anything extra to invite a second glance.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.
Rating: 85/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the August 2010 issue. This brace from Dry Creek Vineyard were tasted blind in the same flight of eight wines, although not side by side it turns out, and there are more similarities than differences between them. This one gets no oak treatment and is intended to be the lighter of the two, and if it is, that difference is hard to spot save for the slightly simpler quality of the fruit here. On the other hand, both wines are on the stiff, lean side with but vague wisps of varietal grasses. Price, rather than any stylistic preference, gives this one a slight but useful edge.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.
Dry, dry, dry is the name of the game with this Sauvignon Blanc. It's rich in Meyer lemon, kaffir lime and pineapple flavors, with intense, zesty acidity for clean balance, and the finish is spicy and stimulating. A beautiful cocktail wine to get a fancy dinner started. S.H. ** SOLD OUT **
