Not a bad Sauvignon Blanc with bright citrus, lemon and grapefruit. A little on the harsh side with some metallic bite but overall ok for the price point.

Quite possibly the palest wine I've ever seen in a glass. It is darned close to distilled water in color Herbal, minty, peppery nose. Very very light bodied on the palate. Herbal aroma translates to herbal (bell pepper) taste. Lightness makes it quite refreshing. I yearn for acid, but with the lack of other palate sensations, I'm glad it's not really there. Very light color. Great citrus fruit on the nose. The grapefruit kick at the end gives you the biggest dleight of this refreshing wine. With 13.5%, this wine is perfect on a hot day.

For $12 you cannot go wrong. Drinks like New Zealand sauvignon blanc that costs twice as much. lots of lemongrass and bread fruit. has a few years of aging potential.

Had this wine before dinner at the Alpenglow Stube in Keystone, CO. I really like this sauvignon blanc. Crisp and light. No after taste. No grapefruit taste.

Intense aromas of lemon-lime, ruby grapefruit and fresh cut grass. After a couple of minutes in the glass, more subtle hints of kiwi and guava begin to reveal a complex wine. On the palate, this wine is truly delicious with excellent viscosity and length showing more fresh fruit flavors and very balanced acidity.

The 2011 Fumé Blanc displays an aromatic symphony that leaves one pondering the truly magical characters of the Sauvignon Blanc varietal. The initial aromas fill the senses with a cacophony of pungent grassy, kaffir lime, citrus, white pepper and classic olive aromas. The palate is framed by refreshing citrus and mineral notes that mingle in wonderful harmony with Meyer lemon, Granny Smith apple and orange zest flavors. The grassy elements repeat on the finish with acidity that is both refreshing and brisk. This incredible new vintage is an ode to our founding and reminds us of how we got our start - a wine that is classically styled and immediately food friendly at an unbelievably fair price. - WineryAPPELLATION: Sonoma CountyFERMENTATION: Stainless steel fermented at an average of 52˚F for about 30 days.SOILS: A combination of sand and clay soils, mostly valley floor vineyards.ALCOHOL: 13.5%BRIX: Average 22.5pH: 3.37TA: .62g/100mL

This new vintage harkens back to the early days of Fumé Blanc at Dry Creek Vineyard. At first swirl, pungent grassy aromas framed by keffir limes leap from the glass. On the palate, the wine displays racy citrus characters along with granny smith apples, Meyer lemon and orange zest. The grassy elements repeat on the finish with acidity that is both refreshing and brisk. Dave Stare pioneered this style back in 1972 and this wine certainly carries forward all of those old school elements. Simply delicious! - Winery

At first swirl, the 2009 Fumé Blanc presents bright aromas of lemon peel and passion fruit. After several minutes in the glass, additional aromas of pineapple and grapefruit shine through. On the palate, the wine continues the refreshing theme of citrus elements, along with a wonderful backbone of minerals that provide dimension and weight to the palate. Subtle, nuanced, and showing true varietal character, this delicious wine finishes crisp and juicy proving again just how versatile Sauvignon Blanc can be. - Winery

Winemaker's Notes:

Our flagship white wine, the 2012 vintage of Fumé Blanc yet again sets the standard for dry Sauvignon Blanc in Sonoma County. Meyer lemon, kaffir lime, citrus, and grassy characters arise from the glass. The palate repeats many of the aromatic themes making the wine fresh and vibrant. Classic underlying minerality provides a seamless core of acidity and backbone that are hallmarks of our Fumé Blanc. A delicious wine from start to finish, this is a near perfect pairing with fresh oysters.
