Dry Creek Vineyard Chenin Blanc Clarksburg Dry Chenin Blanc 2007
Crafted in the traditional Loire Valley style, our Chenin Blanc is stainless steel fermented to preserve the fresh tropical aromas and bright acidity that have become hallmarks of this wine. At first swirl, the wine displays notes of melon, peach, and lemon peel. On the palate, crisp acidity is balanced with juicy tropical fruit flavors and additional hints of honeysuckle and rose petal. The finish is precise and harmonious with wonderful intensity and flavor – a perfect match with fresh shucked oysters or spicy Thai food. - Winery
Straw yellow with rich aromas of honesuckle, honeyed citrus and lychee. Smooth in the mouth, light fruit (pear and apple) flavors, but also rich, creamy, and honeyed. Wonderful!
Nice for the price. Syrupy but not sweet. Nice mouthfeel.
Previous taster is right, needs a bit more acidity to make outstanding, but this is a great wine for the price. Honeyed melon aromas and flavors are soft and give the impression of sweetness in a dry framework. I love wines like this. Great with spicy food, especially Indian.
Super easy to drink and great with mild cheeses.
I'm a red wine drinker always in search of an interesting white. To my uneducated palate, the wine started off (too?) sweet, but only for half a second. I found it drinkable.
Fall 2008. BOT244. JK Comments: $13. 12.5% 0.6% RS.
