Dry Creek Chenin Blanc Clarksburg Dry 2011
Fragrant aromas of pineapple, white peach, melon and citrus leap from the glass. A few swirls reveal an underlying minerality, even some chalky notes, which are an ode to the variety’s Loire Valley roots. The palate expresses soft apple characters, zesty citrus and a wonderful sense of balance and freshness. A perfect patio sipper, Chenin Blanc is summertime in a bottle!

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon speaks to the cool growing conditions of the vintage. Late summer rains had us go through an extreme berry selection process to ensure the highest quality fruit. This wine displays beautiful aromatics of bright red cherry, red raspberry and dried thyme qualities that mingle with darker elements of black cherry, espresso and cassis. The palate is full of ripe fruits that mold seamlessly with tannins that are refined and beautifully balanced. Full of nuance and delicate character, this wine will age for an extended period and should only continue to get better with time. - Winery BLEND: 83% Cabernet 11% Merlot 5% Cabernet Franc 1% Malbec BARREL AGING: 18 months in French, American and Hungarian oak; 30% new oak ALCOHOL: 13.5% pH: 3.71 TA: 0.57 g/100mL

Wine Review Online scored it 94 and it received a Platinum Medal and 94 in the Critics Challenge Wine Competition. They said "It's hardly a surprise that Dry Creek Vineyard should make a dynamite Cabernet at this price. It has long been among the best value wineries in California, consistently turning out wines of superior quality at prices that are modest by comparison to others in the same neighborhood. This one shows intense red fruit character, hints of spice and firm backbone. And it's going to be hard to beat the price with this sort of quality."
