Aromas of mulberry, musky game and white pepper. Sweet, layered and lush, with raspberry and white pepper flavors sexed up by an element of apricot skin. Really builds on the back end. This is fruitier than the more savory 2008 version.
An unusually complex nose for the appellation offers up notes of ripe upper and lower register red berry fruits and warm earth where the latter element can also be found on the rich full-bodied and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a delicious and solidly persistent finish. A lovely Clos du Roi. Burghound.
Here an exceptionally fresh nose of citrus peel and white flowers merges seamlessly into rich and nicely detailed flavors that possess lovely intensity and an attractively dry finish that offers notably better depth and more length as well. This offers fine quality for its level. Burghound.
Supple, generous and distinctive for its black olive and mineral overtones to a core of ripe currant and blackberry, lingering on the expressive finish against polished tannins. Drink now through 2016.
Sweet fruit with loads of subtle raspberry and blueberry. Full and silky. Excellent finish. Wow. -JS Wine Spectator.
The 2009 Sauvignon offers up plenty of varietal character in its white peaches lime tomato leaf and sage all of which come together nicely in this representative Friulian Sauvignon. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014. -Antonio Galloni Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
