What to Expect

Few white wines have achieved the fame that Riesling has in Germany. Its ability to produce a wide range of styles, from bone dry to lusciously sweet, in an even wider range of climates has made it the grape of Germany. Riesling in Germany can range from the steely, piercing wines of the Saar to the round, opulent peachy wines one typically finds in the Nahe and the Pfaltz. Every region is capable of producing both dry and sweet versions though there is a movement towards drier wines that has taken hold throughout many regions.

Winemakers Notes

Smells of cherry cider laced with orange peel and mulling spices. The palate impression is as frisky bright and dynamic as both the vintage and preceding editions of this wine would lead one to expect. Apple cherry lime and orange all inform a scintillatingly bright sizzlingly spicy and unabashedly sweet finish. This little study in fruit saturation and vim and vigor.

Reviews

Ripe aromas of stone fruits abound with good acidity and a nice finish. Try this as an apéritif or simply to cleanse your palate any time. No matter what the vintage, Leitz always expresses it.

Quite dry, moderate acidity, lime and orange flavors with a refreshing, somewhat mineral finish. If you like dry, citrusy cocktails like 7&7, you will like this.

Still as tasty as ever. Fantastically priced for a wine of this quality. Off dry, but with great acidity, which keeps the wine lively and taught. Beautiful flavors of peach, mango and other tropical fruits, this is a fantastic wine and highly recommended
