Beat Caduff: Tolle, frische Nase mit weissen Johannisbeeren, saftige Nektarinen, Weinbergpfirsiche, etwas sizilianische Zitronen mit etwas rosa Grapefruit. Im Gaumen so lecker, schlank und rassig, sehr verspielt, tolle Eleganz, saftig, knackig mit Rasse, tolle, reife Säure. Ein glasklarer, frischer, lebendiger Kabinett, der nach mehr verlangt.

Max Gerstl: Ein ganz filigraner, verspielter, aber auch wunderbar aromatischer Kabinett, der kommt so unglaublich raffiniert daher, mich fasziniert er total, leichter kann ein Wein nicht mehr sein. Kaum zu glauben, dass er gleichzeitig so wunderbar aromatisch ist.

Winemaker's Notes:

Dr. Loosen produces only Riesling from traditional, slate-soil vineyards in the Mosel valley. A full range of Prädikat wines is made from six grand cru single-vineyard sites. The vineyards of Dr. Loosen owe their excellent quality to three major factors: the exceptional regional climate of the Middle Mosel area, the mineral-rich slate and volcanic soils, and the incredible age of the estate’s ungrafted Riesling vines. All of Dr. Loosen’s six major vineyards were designated as Erste Lage (equivalent to grand cru) in the 1868 Prussian classification of Mosel vineyards, which was undertaken for tax assessment purposes. This classification predates the grand cru system in Burgundy, and was updated by Stuart Pigott and Hugh Johnson in the Wine Atlas of Germany (1995). The Erdener Treppchen Riesling Kabinett is a wonderfully character-filled wine, which shows off the versatility of the varietal. At once vibrant with bracing acidity, there is also an abundance of citrus-laced fruit. This is amazing with Asian or any kind of spicy food.
