The Dr. Loosen estate has been in the same family for over 200 years. When Ernst Loosen (pronounced loh-zen) assumed ownership in 1988, he realized that with ungrafted vines averaging 60 years old in some of Germany’s best-rated vineyards, he had the raw materials to create stunningly intense, world-class wines. When Ernst Loosen (pronounced loh-zen) assumed ownership in 1988, he realized that with ungrafted vines averaging 60 years old in some of Germany’s best-rated vineyards, he had the raw materials to create stunningly intense, world-class wines. To achieve this, Ernst dramatically reduced his crop size and stopped all chemical fertilization, preferring only moderate use of organic fertilizers. And, most importantly, he turned to gentler cellar practices that allow the wine to develop its full potential with a minimum of handling and technological meddling. Read less

Sweet Riesling - off dry really, but its very noticeable. The sweetness is balanced by some very clear acidity, this gives the wine a lime and quince taste. Very mineral as well. A very clean, tart wine, especially considering its off dry. Nice.

A wonderful way to illustrate the terroir of the Mosel (especially for the price). With residual sweetness bolstered by smart acidity, the palate is pure German Riesling: peach, apricot, and fine wet slate.

A great introduction to the delightful Rieslings of the Mosel, the Dr "L" is bursting with peach and apple flavors. Lively, refreshing, utterly delicious, and a tremendous value!

An off-dry Riesling with all that peach fruit character you've grown to love. Reach for this entry-level Riesling any time you're in the mood for a fresh, fruity white with a touch of sweetness.
