Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars Semi Dry Riesling 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Vinification: The 2004 Vintage reminded everyone that we’re in a cool climate with severe winter injuries and a cool, damp summer. A sunny and warm September and early October allowed us to Harvest the grapes with good ripeness. After crushing/destemming, pressing and cold temperature settling, the wine was fermented at low temperature. The fermentation was stopped before dryness to preserve the fruity character of this wine. The wine was racked, blended, filtered on diatomaceous earth, fined, cold stabilized and adjusted for bottling. Description: The 2004 Semi-dry Johannisberg Riesling, presenting a light golden hue, shows a fruitier less mineral character than the dry Riesling. The bouquet is dominated by ripe fruity aromas of melon, pear and pineapple. The mouthfeel is very pleasant with a good balance between the residual sugar and the acidic backbone typical of Riesling with a long finish. This Semi-dry Riesling is very enjoyable with spicy food or just on its own. Analysis: Alcohol: 11.3 % Acidity: .74 g/100 ml pH: 3.20 Sugar: 3.7 %
