Dr. Konstantin Frank Salmon Run Chardonnay 2012
This wine comes from the Finger Lakes region in New York, where Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery was a pioneer in succesfully growing (and making wine from) vinifera grape varities such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Riesling, as well as many others. The 2012 Salmon Run Chardonnay has a lovely greenish-gold color, and the floral nose displays hints of toast with good mineralty. Crisp acidity lingers on the palate through to the elegant finish.
Dr. Konstantin Frank ignited the “Vinifera Revolution” a movement that forever changed the course of wine growing in the Finger Lakes and the United States. Dr. Frank’s vision, knowledge and determination are credited with elevating the New York wine industry from a state of happy mediocrity to a level that today commands world attention.
