Therersquo;s an intriguing spice that seems to grow right out of this winersquo;s cool, round fruit. Itrsquo;s lasting, but not perfumey mdash; balanced in the quince and citrus oil spectrum of flavors. For all its density of fruit, this is a small wine, well composed, delicious with pike quenelles.

This wine offers citrus mdash; orange, grapefruit mdash; and spice on the nose. On the palate, a sweeter array of apricot, tropical fruit and some lemon is buoyed by its minerality. A lusher style of Gewuuml;rtz that will pair well with spicy cuisine mdash; think Indian curries.

There is a certain knack to making great Gewurz, and Dr. Frank has it. This rsquo;99 is brimming with a spicy citrus blossom and rose-petal bouquet. Off-dry and surprizingly full-bodied, the flavors unfold to reveal strawberry, gooseberry, ande lemon peel, with a suggestion of bitterness on the finish. This is an excellent example of well-made Gewurz.

Spicy, with an almost crunchy edge to the bright acidity, which carries delicious apple, fig, almond and orange zest notes. Stays delineated and mouthwatering on the finish. Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.

Bright and peachy, and seemingly just off-dry, with pine and litchi notes on the finish. Drink now.
