Dr. Konstantin Frank Cabernet Franc 2009
A nose of roasted red pepper and prune that lengthens with oaky and spicy tones. On the palate, this wine displays great elegance with soft tannins and a smooth long finish. Coming from an exceptionally hot summer this wine will benefit from decanting to reveal the depth of its character – serve with brisket and red sauce pasta dishes.
Dr. Konstantin Frank ignited the “Vinifera Revolution” a movement that forever changed the course of wine growing in the Finger Lakes and the United States. Dr. Frank’s vision, knowledge and determination are credited with elevating the New York wine industry from a state of happy mediocrity to a level that today commands world attention.
External Reviews for Dr. Konstantin Frank Cabernet Franc
An elegant nose of spicebox, cherry, cranberry and pepper are followed by flavors of nut, cherry, cinnamon, and spice in this medium-bodied red. The wine offers structure and complexity, with an earthy, lingering finish. Pair with pork, turkey.
With a warm nose of dried berries and leafy aromas, this medium-bodied red delights the palate with briar patch-like fruit, and finishes with mouthwatering acidity.
Cabernet Franc has long been my favorite red from New York and Dr Frank’s is a stunning example of this often-forgotten grape. Medium-bodied with good acidity and well-balanced between the herbal and fruity elements. Fresh green pepper and dill mingle with cherry and currant notes making it an excellent choice to pair with any grilled vegetarian dish pork roast or burgers.
