Some good fruit sweet with hints of leather. Elegant but we thought that it aged too fast due to the storage conditions. Read more

A Port wine from Douro in Portugal. 1983 Dow Vintage Port 375ml

Winemaker's Notes:

Tasting Notes Deep ruby colour, with lovely complex aromas of ripe wild berries. On the palate, rich fruit flavours, well balanced by plenty of tannins, and excellent length. The Viticultural Year A cold and dry winter was followed by a very wet spring. This harmed the flowering; a moderate summer did not help, with the variable weather leading to the vines being about a month behind normal. All was saved with a glorious September, turning what had seemed like being a very poor vintage into an excellent one
