fourth generation of the Symington family,
Port producers since the 19th Century. The
family, whose experience dates back over
100 years, supervises all the vineyards,
winemaking and ageing of this wine.
Dow’s owns two of the Douro’s finest
Quintas, Senhora da Ribeira and Bomfim.
They were acquired in 1890 and 1896,
making Dow’s one of the first houses to
invest in premium vineyards.
30 Years Old Tawny
Dow's old Tawnies are well known for
their remarkable read more...raisiny, dried fruit
flavours, exquisite creamy texture and an
exceptionally long, lingering finish.
Dow’s 30 Years Old Tawny is made
exclusively from grapes sourced at “A”
classified vineyards (the highest), which
include Dow’s Quinta do Bomfim and

very best vineyards in the Douro valley.
This enviable position is reflected in the

weather.
Tasting Notes
This 30 Years Old Port is a beautifully
mature wine of great distinction. Pale and
delicate, it has superb complexity and
style. With a concentrated and nutty nose
and a full, fresh and lingering finish. It is a
very skilful blend, creating an excellent
balance between nutty oak and raisin fruit
flavours.

- More like brown color, not ambar as I expected. The nose is much less complex than the last colheitas I tasted. You find walnuts, dried figs, honey and cinamon. Good balance but also behind the colheitas and the 10 year olds. It seems to me this is a little excessive time in wood. Expansive but with a sticky character, long finish. [91]
