Clustered around Riquewihr, the 27 hectare vineyard worked by Dopff & Irion is extremely well situated. The different types of soil and the varied climate means we are able to produce rich, powerful, complex wines.
Acutally I tasted the 2008 version. The taste was a bit sweety for a Riesling.
A wee bit pricier than its Pinot Blanc cousin from D & I, but even more flavor. I got it at Trader Joe's and it was around 12 or 14 dollars. A simple Riesling, so straight forward and clean. I made pasta e vongholi and it was perfect with that and a butter lettuce and avocado salad. I especially like this wine at the end of summer/beginning of fall.
