External Reviews for Donnachiara Fiano di Avellino
100% Fiano with a straw yellow color with a light green touch. Possesses a delicate bouquet that elegantly combines hints of dried fruit and floral and tropical fruit notes.
My new favorite wine region this summer has been southern Italy, especially for its bright, aromatic whites such as the Donnachiara Fiano. Lots of pear, melon and toasted hazelnut notes, with just a hint of pumpkin. Awesome enough simply chilled on its own, this is also one to keep in mind for Thanksgiving.
The great white wines of Northern Italy find their only rival in Campania where densely flavored, rich white wines like this Fiano di Avellino from Donnachiara. The grape variety dates back to ancient times and has been cultivated here for centuries. Donnachiara is a small family-owned winery that takes great care in bringing out the best in this native grape. Yields are reduced and the grapes slow macerate over a period of up to 60 days creating a wine of stunning proportion with richness on the palate and complex flavors of peaches, pears, golden apples and hazelnuts that persist through a lengthy finish.
