Donelan Syrah Sonoma County Cuvée Christine 2010

Member Review by Eric Guido:

The nose showed dark wild berries, exotic spice and hints of undergrowth. On the palate, it had medium weight with a balanced spark of acidity, showing ripe red and black fruits, lavender, hints of pepper and inner floral notes. The long and staying finish revealed hints of this wine’s structure and likely its ability to age. (93 points)

Donelan Family Wines:
Leave the pretense at the door. Small warehouse winery intermingled with a few other brands, a custom crush facility and a wine storage business. Just putting out stellar wines year after year starting out as PAX and now evolving with a new winemaker into Donelan Family wines. Very personable staff and a hands on owner in Joe Donelan who spends much of his time calling customers on the phone to thank them for drinking his wines.
