Donausonne is a Hungarian wine brand most famous for their Blaufrankisch varietal wine. This is a fruity, jammy wine with light mineral notes for balance. Blaufrankisch is a dark-skinned, late ripening grape that is grown all over Eastern Europe.
Smooth, full bodied, berriesksemi-sweet; not tart or bitter. Good tasting at either room temperature or chilled. Great with a variety of meats, especially barbque or salmon.
The first time I had this wine was at a tasting in Downtown KC. I serve it alot at my dinner parties and Aloette Shows!
been a fan since 2003. great taste and price
I don't normally drink red wines - this is the BEST! I love it! It is from a country I have visited and looked for wines from the nearby town of my grandmother, so it is even sweeter!
