Donatella Cinelli Colombini is a Medieval scholar-turned wine producer in Montalcino, Italy. She is responsible for founding Wine Day, an annual event to promote Italian wine tourism. Since 1998, she has been producing Chianti, Orcia and Brunello in one of the first wineries in Italy to be staffed entirely by women, known as Casato Prime Donne. She also founded Fattoria Del Colle further into Tuscany. Among outstanding representations of local Sangiovese in the main Tuscan DOCs, Fattoria Del Colle also produces Cenerentola DOC Orcia, a blend of Sangiovese with the rare Foglia Tonda varietal. There is also a country inn at this location, where guests can stay and dine overlooking the vineyards.  Read less
