Getting a lot of oregano and herbal notes on the nose which blends very nicely with the minerality and the fruit. Lots more fruit on the palate - stone and tropical fruits, well balanced with fresh acidity and a silky finish.

I am so out of my depth with white wines I had to look up on Google what sort of grape this is, and I found that it's native to Argentina and typically displays some smooth mouthfeel and mild acidity with aromatics of peach and apricot. And sure enough, there are some lovely floral notes to this wine, and some earthy notes that just bring to mind riding on horseback through the mountains. The taste is quite refreshing, mildly acidic, and displays wonderful notes of peach, citrus and some earth notes that are mildly metallic, a taste reminiscent of copper and rustic forest. The finish is very nice and crisp, perfect for a summer afternoon, and very dry, a white wine that I could definitely get to know and like! At Doña Paula the vineyards have been managed using Sustainable Agriculture practices. The grapes for this wine come from 44 acres planted between 2000 and in the Finca Los Cerezos Estate in Tupungato with some very well reputed French clones (316, 242, 530 and 108), grafted on three different rootstocks: 1103P, 3309 and 110R. The vine spacing is 2.2 meters by 1.6 meters with strictly observed vertical shoot positioning and both spur and cane pruning. Canopy management tends to create an even and medium vigorous canopy in order to protect the bunch zone from excessive sun exposure. Yields range from 4 to 5 tn/acre. This wine is produced in stainless steel tanks with cooling jackets and without contact with oak.Fermentation temperature ranges from 12 to 14°C. 85% of the wine in the stainless steel tanks has been in contact with the lees for 2 months at 10°C. Vintage: 2009 Region: Finca Los Cerezos - Tupungato, Uco Valley. Varietals: 100% Sauvignon Blanc Alcohol: 12,5% by vol. Acidity: 7,2 g/l (tartaric acid) Residual Sugar: 3,76 g/l pH: 3,26 Notes: This fresh, attractive and vigorous Sauvignon Blanc shows intense aromas of yellow grapefruit, lime and passion fruit, that are well integrated with gooseberry and herbal notes. On the palate this is a wine of great freshness with a very long after taste.
