Add your reviewThe bouquet is almost undetectable, with the faintest aromas of smoke and wood. In the mouth there’s a mix of tart and bitter flavors reminiscent of fresh blackberries, though without much refinement; you’d expect more from what some once called the finest wine in Argentina. Doña Paulas icon wine the Seleccion de Bodega Malbec is one of the leading collector wines coming from Argentina. It is only made in the best vintages, when the ideal fruit allows the estate to obtain this stunning, complex Malbec. It is produced from vineyards over 30 years of age and is handled to obtain limited yields. With a sober and elegant presentation, denoting a wine elaborated exclusively for the cognizant. Dona Paula:Intense deep Violet colour; clean aromas of black forest berries, pencil lead, graphite nose, black cherry, mocha and spice box.It is probably the best and one of the most structured version of our icon Malbec, keeping intact its elegance, finesse and multilayered expression. At Doña Paula our vineyards and wines have always been managed using Sustainable Agriculture practices. Wine Spectator:Shows both power and purity, with dark currant, fig and ganache notes spiked with brighter blueberry and violet hints. The long finish drips with fruit and manages to stay fresh, with a hint of pastis hanging on. Drink now through 2012. Wine Advocate:Dona Paula's Seleccion de Bodega Malbec is a glass-staining opaque purple. It was fermented with native yeasts and aged in new French oak for 24 months. The nose reveals an aromatic array of pain grille, pencil lead, spice box, incense, black cherry, and black raspberry. Dense, layered, and full-bodied, it has gobs of spicy black fruit, enough structure to evolve for 3-5 years, and a lengthy, pure finish. It will offer prime drinking from 2013 to 2026.
