Doña Paula Malbec Los Cardos 2006
At Doña Paula, they believe that wine should be a true expression of the land. The conditions in Argentina’s Mendoza region are ideal, with unique terroir which allow winemakers to fulfil their dreams of creating sophisticated and immaculately structured wines. The Doña Paula Estate wines are wines of tremendous concentration and varietal character that result from the work, dedication and skill of the winegrowers and the passion, creativity and innovation of the wine makers. The wines are big-bodied and bold, yet lively, complex and elegant. This Bodega Seleccion is an intense deep violet colour with clean aromas of black-acid forest berries, black cherry, moka and spice box. It has elegance, finesse and multilayered expression.
The bouquet is almost undetectable, with the faintest aromas of smoke and wood. In the mouth there’s a mix of tart and bitter flavors reminiscent of fresh blackberries, though without much refinement; you’d expect more from what some once called the finest wine in Argentina. The star is the long, warm, layered finish. (AV 86, http://argovino.com/?p=442)
Cheio de frutas vermelhas, taninos redondos. Delicioso
Café, frutas vermelhas, mas sem complexidade, um pouco alcoolico
This is a truly elegant Malbec. There are complex fruit and spice notes with a balanced acidity. These qualities refine the Malbec flavor in a superior fashion compared to many other Argentine Malbecs. This was a great vintage for top Argentine Malbecs.
This was good but I liked the Layer Cake Shiraz-Malbec better.
was worth exactly the seven dollars I paid for it. pretty good, but not great.
my boss at work turned me on to this wine. i am not really a fan of a dry tannic finish to any wine, but man did the syrah really balance out the malbec. pours a nice purple color, standard syrah. all the earth and fresh plum and jam of a syarh with the balanced mineral and dry tannins of a malbec. what a great blend.

A Malbec wine from Mendoza in Argentina. 2006 Dona Paula Malbec Seleccion de Bodega 750ml
Intense deep violet colour; clean aromas of black-acid forest berries, pencil lead, graphitenotes, black cherry, moka and spice box. It is probably the until now 'best' and one of themost structured versions of our Icon malbec, keeping intact its elegance, finesse andmulctilayered expression.
